What is Good (Day 5)

{ The Good Life } 3.11.21

When you enter a new place of work it can be quite daunting. New patterns to be built. New rules to play by. New people to meet. There is something in mine that feels like home. It could be the atmosphere they have set up or it could be the old homes that the business is built into. Either way something homey this way comes.

What Is Good? 3.11.21

  1. Cleaning The Dust is Healing. As I was dusting the stairwell today it hit me. These small actions are healing. They are directly connected with how I exist in this world. These small actions are what make me whole and what help the greater things. come to fruition. I pause. These small moments are the greatest with greater things still yet to come. The folding of a towel. The dusting of a shelf. The cooking of a meal. These are the small things that build up into and weave themselves into the great vessel of life. This care is self care just as much as doing the work, boundaries and taking a bubble bath is.

  2. I no longer am minimizing myself. I have become aware of how I have minimised myself over my life. I have suppressed my truest self so that others felt comfort and safe. In actuality, what I have been providing was a false sense safety. Instead of showing up authentically so they can as well. I have suppressed my success making it small, never realising what a illustrious and glorious career I have had. I have suppressed the greatness of my work turning it into something that doesn’t matter to me rather than singing of my devotion to it. Needless to say, I am no longer minimising. I am expanding. I am showing up.

I am at a transition period of life at the moment. I am adjusting schedules and practices. It feels exciting. Each day I step out into a new adventure. I can’t wait to see the countryside as I go.

Keep living { The Good Life }

Ian

My Body.

Today I had the most pleasant moment. I weighed myself for the first time in weeks. I am the heaviest I have been in my life yet I am not mad at my body. I have always struggled with my body and it’s
