The Shape of Endurance

The Shape of Endurance is a study of what remains. Each piece begins with the body, its gestures, its memory, its quiet collapse into color, and becomes a record of persistence. I work in pastel, acrylic, and collage, layering marks that test how far a form can stretch before it disappears.

This series was made in Ely, Minnesota, where silence is not absence but landscape. The solitude here has its own weight and rhythm, and these works carry that rhythm. They move between figuration and abstraction, between what is seen and what is felt, asking what it means to keep becoming when the world insists on stillness.

The shape I am searching for is not perfection or permanence. It is the brief, imperfect endurance of being human, how we bend, blur, and continue anyway.
